After doing a quick sketch of the figure I decided to study of the arm and head as reference for an illustration I'm working on.

I'm beginning to feel much more confident in my line drawing now that I'm two weeks in.

I found some drawings from the last term yesterday. These really embody what I teach at LHS.

On Fridays at LHS we have a morning figure painting session that lasts three hours. It has a much different atmosphere since it is only instructors and advanced students that attend.

Lavender Hill Studios works almost exclusively from mass bassed media - vine charcoal and oil paint. So over the past few years I've grown tremendously in those areas, but have felt the pencil drawing that I learned at Otis College of Art and Design slipping. Now that I'm starting to do my own work, I want to be able to combine all the philosophies I've studied and the line drawing needs some brushing up. I've comitted myself to a sketch club at LHS and hope to be back on track by the end of term.

I was attempting to show my students how limiting the information and sticking to three core values can create a stronger drawing in this demo, but as usual everone wants to charge ahead and put finger nails and eyelashes on the damn thing.
